Pronounced "cabassa" it is a
South American instrument. Cabacas are made of large
gourds or steel. This cabaca is a large gourd. The
beads make the rattling sound as it is twirled in
the hand. The beads can also be tapped softly, in
rhythm, to make a different sound. Cabassa bought in
Rio de Janerio, Brazil in January 1959.
