Spiked
fiddle - Indonesia
Purchased in Indonesia, 1960s

From
Graciela's Notes
This bowed stringed instrument
is handmade. The body is made of wood, and decorated
with a carving in the back. The fingerboard is made
of bone that has been skillfully carved. Makes a
beautiful instrument. The instrument is held upright
when played and the small spike rests on the floor.
It resembles the Kaman-che that I purchased in
Tehran, Iran. Purchased in Indonesia in the 1960’s.
