Membranophone - Conical - Haiti

Purchased in Haiti, 1958
From
Graciela's Notes
The drum is made of a
hollowed- out log. It is the size that carried by
the player and does not sit on the ground. The end
of the drum is hollow so must be kept above ground
to get the full sound. This drum was contributed to
my collection by Jessie Aguirre Miller, my housemate
in Tia Juana, Venezuela, when we both worked for
Creole Petroleum Corporation. She bought it sometime
in 1958 when she visited the island of Haiti.
