Degree Requirements
The sociology major is comprised of 39 hours of course
work. The major requires students to complete 27 hours of
core courses plus 12 hours of electives.
The core includes courses in statistics, methods, writing,
theory, and practice plus a 120 hour practicum.
The faculty practicum advisor and the student determine
the selection of the site of the practicum.
Sociology majors must also complete a minor in another
social behavioral science or other discipline approved by
their faculty advisor.
